Sequester Cuts-PTSD

February 11, 2013

I know that the sequester cuts were used to try to get the budget under control.  It got us past some serious problems but it has not solved the situation since now the sequester is going to make everyone pay the piper.

One of the concerns that I have with the cuts to the defense budget is not that there are not programs that are bloated or ineffective and they should be cut.  My problem is that other programs that are worthwhile may also be slashed as other pet programs are protected.

One of these programs is the mental health for Veterans programs.  PTSD needs to be addressed not swept under the rug in hopes that nothing serious will happen.  The problem of PTSD is that PTSD is like a time bomb ticking that can not afford to be ignored.

If you are a Veteran you should pay attention and not avoid claiming for your PTSD benefits.  If you avoid your own problems, at some point in the near future, you may not be able to file for them.  Others, I would assume, would be grandfathered in.
