Where Are All The PTSD Spouses?

October 31, 2011

I know there has to be many PTSD spouses out there from a statistical standpoint, but so far I have not been able to reach any to post their experiences with their PTSD other. There are so very few PTSD programs devoted to the spouse, I thought this could be an excellent vehicle for them to be a gathering place to share ideas and experiences about PTSD.

I suppose I could say that it is difficult to open up to everyone and that is the wrong way to look at it. Though many can see what you are writing no one will actually know or be able to identify you. We publish no names and only if you are ultra specific would anyone be able to guess your identity. Besides suffering in silence is far worse. Remember there are thousands of you out there. All experiencing many of the same things. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to connect with someone?

Posting is free, at this point, and you can do it at any time of the day or night. More and more people are stopping in and reading what others are saying. This is exactly what we are trying to accomplish. We want this to be a meeting place where connections can be made. Sharing experiences and “War Stories” is the ultimate goal.

By you taking the risk in posting you will be encouraging others to do the same.  There is a power that comes with connections.  This can be a healing first step not only for you but for your PTSD husband/wife as well.
