Why Act Today?

There is a famous proverb that goes like this:

For want of a nail the shoe was lost,
for want of a shoe the horse was lost,
for want of a horse the knight was lost,
for want of a knight the battle was lost,
for want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
So a kingdom was lost—all for want of a nail.

How exactly does this pertain to PTSD?  We all live our lives in our own little sphere.  We worry about ourselves, then our families,  and then other things like jobs, houses, friends etc.  With all the problems and woes of the World we have little time to spend on many other things because everyone is tugging on our sleeves to donate or support some cause of another.  Budgets get thin and we know we can’t support everything so we wind up retreating further into our own bubble and disregard all others.

From the above quote you can see that it isn’t always the big things that create the problems.  It doesn’t matter whether you agreed or disagreed with the big thing which was going to War.  The result is still the same.  There are hundreds of thousands of military people that will be returning to our shores needing help for their PTSD

PTSD is an injury that can not be seen visually but none the less is very real.  PTSD has been a real consequence after each past War but in today’s World you actually can make a difference through social networking.  All you need to do is help identify potential PTSD sufferers and help them find help.  You can do this by alerting your friends on Facebook and Twitter and every other social media gathering place, to the PTSD problem and encourage all your contacts to do the same.  Treatment is available and our FREE posting at Military PTSD Forum is a way to start the ball rolling.
